Notre Dame Prep falls in semis of Berkley Invite

BERKLEY — Pontiac Notre Dame Prep went undefeated in pool play and advanced to the semifinals of the Berkley Invitational round before falling to Farmington Harrison, 25-15, 25-22.

In pool play, Fighting Irish knocked off Southfield (25-13, 25-15), Ferndale (25-21, 25-22) and Bloomfield Hills Sacred Heart (25-16 25-14), while NDP swept Southfield (25-10, 25-18) in the quarterfinals.

Senior setter Tia Jurkiw led the Irish (12-9-0) with 48 assists, 36 digs and 15 serving points. Sophomore middle Dani McCormick added 45 kills and 21 serving points and classmate Hannah Strat scooped up 52 digs for NDP.

The Irish will host Macomb Lutheran North on Tuesday.
