VanNoord’s hat trick lifts Oakland Christian past Everest Collegiate
AUBURN HILLS — Sophomore John VanNoord scored three goals Saturday and that was part of a six-goal outburst by Auburn Hills Oakland Christian, as the Lancers rolled over Clarkston Everest Collegiate, 6-0, in a non-conference boys soccer match.
VanNoord scored the final three goals for Division 4 third-ranked Oakland Christian (9-1-1-). Daniel Smith added two goals, Brandon Delekta added a single tally, while Clifford Baxter, Marco Garcia, Drew Perrin, Spencer Hodges, Chris Polite and Caleb Cotter also had assists for the Lancers.
Luke Combs picked up his fifth shutout of the season for Oakland Christian.
