TUESDAY’S GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Oakland Christian holds off Franklin Road; Hartland pulls away from Holly

AUBURN HILLS — Behind a 24-14 first half, Auburn Hills Oakland Christian was able to build enough cushion to earn a 46-40 MIAC crossover girls basketball victory Novi Franklin Road Christian Tuesday.

Amber Harrison led Oakland Christian (2-3) with 12 points. Becky Vansloten added 10 points and Rachel TerMarsch scored seven for the Lancers.

Kristen Massey scored 14 and Brittany Ramos added 10 points for the Warriors (1-2).

Franklin Road Christian used a 10-5run in the third quarter to climb to within 29-25.Oakland Christian closed with a 17-15 edge.

HARTLAND 48, HOLLY 36: Hartland held holly to 10 points or less in each quarter Tuesday to post this non-conference win.

Lindsey Pajopt scored 16 to lead the Eagles while Bailee Matttert added 12 points.

Hartland led 29-17 at the half and 30—27 through three quarters of play. The Eagles (6-1) finally pulled away with a 18-9 fourth quarter.

Allyssa Copley scored 10 and Kayla Skopek added seven points for Holly (5-2).

PONTIAC 48, WATERFORD MOTT 36: Nia Barton scored 13 and Breonna House added nine for the Phoenix Tuesday in this non-league road win.

Pontiac (5-1) led 24-14 at the half and39-24 through three quarters of play. Mott could not trim the deficit down to single digits in the fourth quarter despite a 12-9 edge.

Lauren Hung scored 22 for Mott, which made just 11-of-22 free throws.

HOWELL HOME SCHOOL 50, ROCHESTER HILLS CHRISTAIN 45: The Eagles lost to the Cougars for the second time in a month Tuesday in this non-league contest.

Jenna Porter led RHC (5-3) with 16points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots. Allise Dubay added 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists and Kindra Armitage twined 10 points for the Eagles.

Howell improved to 6-5 with the win.

AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 55, HARPER WOODS 42: Avondale returned to the win column Tuesday thanks to a 15-point lead at the half and 18-point advantage through three quarters.

Avondale led 17-10 after eight minutes of play and 28-13 at the half. The Yellowjackets extended the lead to 41-23 after the third quarter before subbing in their bench.

Lorreal Farris scored 16 to pace Avondale (4-2). Hannah Little and Daja Whiteside scored 12 apiece for the Yellowjackets.

Jessie Larkin and Tina White score nine apiece for Harper Woods, which made only 13-of 28 foul shots.

ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 51, BIRMINGHAM GROVES 26: Stoney Creek moved to 5-2 overall with this OAA crossover trout of the Falcons.

Gabby Yurik torched the nets for a game-high 22 points. Keri Scipione added nine points for the Cougars, who sent 9-of-10 players into the scoring column.

Stoney Creek led 20-5 after the first quarter and 32-12 at the break to set the tone.

Jordan Blackwell scored 11 for Groves.
