FRIDAY’S GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Pontiac rallies past North Farmington; Cranbrook downs Everest

PONTIAC — Behind a 30-20 second half, Pontiac wrapped up the regular season Friday with a 52-43 victory over North Farmington in OAA Red Division girls basketball play.

Pontiac led 12-8 after the first quarter, only to see North Farmington grab a 23-22 lead at the half thanks to a 15-10 run in the second quarter.

Pontiac came back with a 15-8 surge in the third stanza for a 37-31 advantage entering the fourth quarter, where the Phoenix (11-9, 6-8) closed out with a 15-12 edge.

Meshia Smith led a blanaced effort for Pontiac with 15 points. Nia Barton added 10 points and both Ja’Raylia Knight and Amanada Miller scored nine for Pontiac.

Jasmine Harris scored 25 points and Kaitlyn Kendall added eight points for the Raiders (10-10, 6-8).
BLOOMFIELD HILLS CRANBROOK KINGSWOOD 47, CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE 28: Everest Collegiate fell behind 17-4 after the first quarter and never could recover against Class B Cranbrook.

Tiara Binder scored 19 and Lashay Edwards added 10 points for Cranbrook.

Angelina Mastromatteo added 16 points for Everest.
