WEDNESDAY’S GIRLS LACROSSE ROUNDUP: Rosenau sets record for Rochester; Adams edges Athens

ROCHESTER HILLS — Aly Rosenau set a team record in goal and Jessica Leininger notched four goals as Rochester downed visiting Waterford United 12-8 in a girls lacrosse non-league game Wednesday.

Rosenau recorded 19 saves to set a single-game record for the Falcons.She is also the career leader in saves for the program.

Leininger’s first goal tied the score at 3-3 midway through the first half, igniting a 9-1 run that put the game safely away for the Falcons, who held a 12-4 lead at that point. Samantha Blair and Kylie Gray scored two goals each for Rochester (1-0-0), which also received goals from Renee Soulliere, Katie Krako, Kelly Krako and Natalie Prisciandaro.

Kayla Vanston scored twice for Waterford (0-2-0).

ROCHESTER ADAMS 7, TROY ATHENS 6: Adams opened up its second season with this narrow win over Troy Athens in OAA crossover play. The Highlanders are 1-0-0, while Athens is 0-1-0.
