GIRLS SWIMMING: Holly glides by Swartz Creek

HOLLY — Courtney Konopitski won two open events and swam on a winning relay in helping Holly glide past Swzrtz Creek in a Flint Metro League girls swimming meet.

Konopitski won both the 200 IM (2:24.15) and 100 backstroke (1:08.35), while she joined forces with Jesse Felix, Corina Houseand Chanel Hegedus to win the 400 free relay (4:22.18).

Felix came back to win the 200 free (2:21.52), Corina House helped Holly sweep the diving (151.85 points) and Daryl Spurgeon touched first in the 500 free (6:37.65) for Holly.

For Swartz Creek, Kailynn Rohde, Haley Eldred, Kaitlyn Anderson and Alena Benjamin  combined to win the 200 medley relay (2:13.63), while Morgan Taverniti, Alicia Rocheleau , Benjamin and Anderson won the 200 free relay (2:02.03).

Benjamin won the 50 free (28.48) and100 free (1:03.72), Eldred posted a blue-ribbon finish in the 100 butterfly (1:16.16) and Anderson the 100 breaststroke (1:23.19) for Swartz Creek.
