BOWLING: Oxford girls blank Troy
TROY — Oxford’s girls bowling team put the hurt on Troy Friday night, branding the Colts with a 30-0 shutout.
Oxford won Game 1 by a 1046-1021 count and Game 2 by a 983-938 margin.
Leading the way was Caitlyn Wroblewski with a 191 game, Hannah Farmer with a 168 game and Brooke Harris with a 190 game.
Oxford tied Troy 15-15 in the boys match.
Troy won the first two baker games 207-163 and 206-203.
Oxford won 15 of the next 20 points to earn a tie.
Winning matches for Oxford were Drew Pappas with a 216, Sean McKinney with a 216, Jacob Delong with a 166 and Brandon Hurlburt, who won two matches with 204 and 259 scores.
OXFORD SWEEPS TROY ATHENS
Oxford’s bowling teams had little problems with Troy Athens Monday at Collier Lanes in Oxford.
The Wildcats cruised to a win on the boys side, posting a 23-7victory. Oxford won the girls match, 29-1.
The boys were led by Brandon Hurlburt’s 264 in Game 1. All five of Oxford bowlers had 200-plus games in route to a 1095 team total. In Game 2, Paul Tomaka led the way with a 248 game.
Oxford’s girls were once again led by Caitlyn Wroblewski, who posted a strong game of 247. Hannah Farmers’ 187 aided the Wildcats’ cause.
