TUESDAY’S BOYS BASKETBALL: Rochester Hills’ Hatcher scores 50 in rout; Brandon clips Lapeer East; Everest collegiate clinches league title

ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester Hills Christian put the finishing touches on an unbeaten FBAC season  Tuesday, routing Davison Faith Baptist.It was aided by a record-setting performance by junior guard Marquez Hatcher.

The 5-foot-10 Hatcher scored a career-high 50 points to lead the Eagles to a convincing 87-53 victory over the visitors.

Hatcher shot 75 percent from the floor, another school record for Rochester Hills Christian, which is the top ranked school in the Michigan Association of Christian Schools.

Freshman Ryan Patton added nine points and senior Chuck Calajian chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds for the Eagles (20-1).

Andrew Lowe had 12 points in the loss for Davison Faith Baptist.

ORTONVILLE BRANDON 67, LAPEER EAST 62: Brandon used a 24-12 third quarter run to turn the tables and post this five-point Flint Metro League victory Tuesday.

Lapeer East led 20-18 after the first quarter and 35-31 at the half. Host Brandon rallied with a 35-27 second-half

Quinton Cook and Alex Bageris both scored 18 points to lead the Blackhawks. Dylan Morris followed with 12 points for Brandon, which forced 19 turnovers on the defensive end.

Keaton Pnack scored a game-high 27 points and Kocin Kirby added 18 points for Lapeer East, which held a 37-27 edge on the boards.

CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE 51, WESTBLOOMFIELD JEWISH ACADEMY: 38:

Everest Collegiate went on the road Tuesday and came back home with its second straight CHSL-Intersectional Division league title.

Blake Beauchamp and David Smith both scored 17 points for Everest. Richie Cross added nine points for the Mountaineers (11-5, 7-1

Jewish Academy led 12-8 at the end of the first quarter and 21-16 at the half. Everest Collegiate turned the tables with a 17-4 surge in the third quarter to gain a 33-25 advantage, then closed with an 18-13 run.

Jake Feldman scored 11 for Jewish Academy.

ALLEN PARK INTER-CITY BAPTIST 58, AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 41: The Class D fourth-ranked Chargers posted this 17-point home win Tuesday in MIAC Blue Division play.

John VanNoord scored with 13 points and Preston Lasala added 10 points for Oakland Christian (8-7, 5-5).

ROCHESTER HILLS LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 66, STERLING HEIGHTS PARKWAY CHRISTIAN 54:
Nathan Drews scored a game-high 26 points in leading the host Crusaders to the MIAC Blue Division win.

Ian Wellhousen added nine points. And Evan Rouce and Greg Maynard followed with eight points apiece for Northwest (5-7, 3-5).

PONTIAC ACADEMY OF EXCELLENCE 66, CENTER LINE MICHIGAN MATH AND SCIENCE ACADEMY 10: Sa’Vonne Keys led Pontiac Academy (11-1) with his 26 points and four assists, as the Cougars rolled to the non-league win. Deon Sears added 14 points, six rebounds and three steals for PAE.
