GIRLS BASKETBALL: Rochester Hills Christian remains unbeaten; Oxford topples Richmond
ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester Hills Christian received little resistance Tuesday night in keeping its perfect record in tact.
The host Eagles, the top-ranked team in the Michigan Association of Christian Schools, blew past Midland Calvary Baptist, 56-27, in a non-conference girls basketball contest.
Junior Jenna Porter scored 24 points and added five assists to pace RHC (15-0).
Junior Ashley Parker added 13 points, had 17 rebounds and six blocks, while freshman Makayla Smith had 13 points and five steals for the Eagles, who host Clarkston Springfield Christian Thursday to wrap up FBAC league play.
OXFORD 47, RICHMOND 35: Three Wildcats scored in double figures and Oxford shot 60 percent from three-point range on the night to down visiting Richmond in non-league play. Junior Jessica Murphy scored 19 points, including a trio of three-pointers, with five rebounds and five assists to lead Oxford (11-6). Skye Donaldson added 14 points and five boards and Samantha Medici contributed 10 points, including two late three-pointers to keep the Blue Devils at bay. Oxford led 21-15 at the half and 29-26 through three quarters of play before closing out with an 18-9 fourth quarter. Haley Schweiger scored 19 and Carlie Thueme added 11 points for Richmond.
