TROY — Somewhat under the radar at the beginning of the boys basketball season, Troy is now in the driver’s seat for a league championship.
The Colts took down rival Troy Athens, 59-44, Wednesday night to take control of the OAA White Division with three games left.
Troy led 12-3 after the first quarter and23-14 at the half. The Colts (13-4, 9-2) opened up a 15-point lead at the end of the third quarter at 41-26 thanks to an 18-12 run in the third stanza. Both teams traded off 18 points in the fourth quarter.
Chris Dorsey twined 20 points to lead Troy, while Deonte Hood added 13 points for the Colts
Tim Shayoka scored 15 and Mike Williams added 13 points for Athens (11-5, 8-3).
