GIRLS SOCCER: Stoney Creek rolls over Troy

TROY By virtue of returning most of its team, Rochester Stoney Creek was tabbed the preseason favorite in the OAA Red Division girls soccer race.

The Cougars have already grabbed a pair of impressive league victories, including Tuesday’s 4-1 triumph over defending Division 1 state champion Troy.

Madison Schupbach scored two goals and added an assistto pace the Cougars (2-0-0, 2-0-0). Jamison Midgley added a goal and an assist, Mari Zandi scored the other goal and both Taylor Paradoski and Carly Cerny picked up assists for Stoney Creek.

Haley Michael stopped on shot in the win.

Michelle Babtz scored for Troy, which graduated eight starters.soccer - ball in back of net
