BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Pontiac Notre Dame Prep is headed back to familiar territory.
The Fighting Irish captured their 10 straight Class B district championship Friday — also the school’s 19th in 23 years — with a 3-0 sweep of Macomb Lutheran North in a district final at Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood.
NDP prevailed by a 25-18, 25-16, 25-10 victory over the Mustangs.
The Irish improve to 52-9-6 and will advance to the Imlay City regional, where they will face the 2015 state runner-up North Branch.
The Irish used a balanced attack to take down the Mustangs. Gabby Shilling had 11 kills and three blocks, Natalie Risi laced 15 points, including six aces, to go along with 23 assists, 15 kills and two blocks.
Maddy Chinn added six service points, 12 kills and nine digs, while Maria Famularo chipped in eight service points and 11 digs. Taylor Raiola also got into the act with five points, three coming from aces, 11 kills, a team-high blocks and 12 digs, while Morgan Verheyen scooped up 12 digs.
