BOYS SOCCER: Milford ousts Waterford Kettering

| October 15, 2020 | Comments (0)

MILFORD — Talk about ending a drought.

Milford snapped a three-week winless streak on the pitch Wednesday night, opening up the Division 1 state tournament with a 4-1 victory over visiting Waterford Kettering.

Charlie Head, Matt Mrozinski, Gavin McBride, and Alex Smith scored for Milford. Mrozinski, Max Smith and Dylan Meek had assists for the Mavericks, while Frank Vulaj recorded the win in-between the pipes.

Milford also beat Kettering 3-0 back on Sept. 24 — the Mavericks’ last win. Milford was 0-2-2 since that win until ousting Kettering from the state tournament Wednesday.

Milford (3-4-3) advances to the district semifinals at Hartland next Tuesday against the winner of the White Lake Lakeland-Howell contest. That game is set for Thursday night.

Kettering finishes 1-11-1.
