FRIDAY’S GIRLS BASKETBALLL ROUNDUP: Everest Collegiate, Bethany Christian post lopsided wins
CLARKSTON — The debut season of girls basketball at Clarkston Everest Collegiate continued Friday with a lopsided 51-28 victory over Wyandotte Mt. Carmel.
Sarina Nallamothu, led Everest (4-2) with 16 points, leading three Mountaineers in double figures. Angelina Mastromatteo added 14 points and Mary Jo Allen chipped in with 12 points for Everest.
TROY BETHANY CHRISTIAN 45, TROY CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY 28: Bethany Christian leaped out to a 15-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, outscoring the Defenders in all four quarters to record the non-conference win. Sophomore Lianna Sprankle scored 16 points and freshman Sarah Bishop added 14 points for the Bruins.
Bethany Christian (4-1) led 23-13 at the half and pushed the lead up to 15 points (36-21) with a 13-8 run in the third quarter before closing out with an 11-6 run in the fourth quarter.
Bethany Christian Girls basketball defeated Troy Christian Leadership Academy Thursday night 45-28. Bethany was led by Lianna Sprankle with 16 points and Sarah Bishop who had 14 points.
Christian Leadership (1-3) was led by Kayla Bowyer’s 15 points.
DAVISON FATIH BAPTIST 37, TROY BETHANY CHRISTIAN 31: The Eagles took down the Bruins in a non-conference game Thursday. Bethany Christian’s 15-9 fourth-quarter run was not enough to overtake Faith Baptist’s 28-16 lead through three quarters. Kara Moore, a transfer from Saginaw Community Baptist, scored 18 for Faith Baptist. Lianna Sprankle and Sarah Bishop had eight points each for Bethany Christian, which fell behind 24-10 at the half after Faith went on an 18-2 run in the second quarter.
