ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester College Men’s Golf Coach Clayton Bissett announced the signing of Shane Kesthely.

A former standout at Farmington High School, Kesthely will hit the links this fall with the Warriors after golfing for Oakland Community College under head coach Rick Coatta the past couple of years. While at OCC, Kesthely led the Raiders to a 2012 MCCHA Eastern Conference Championship as well as a 2012 MCCHA State Championship. He helped the Raiders to eight consecutive tournament championship titles and the No. 10 spot in the national rankings.

Individually, Kesthely finished the 2011-12 season with a 77 scoring average and qualified individually for the Junior College Nationals, shooting a 78, 76, and 68, respectively.

Kesthely enjoyed a stellar prep career at Farmington, where he was a two-time All-Oakland County and All-State First Team Division 1 selection. He led his team to a Oakland County Division II Tournament championship and set the Farmington school record shooting a 69 for 18 holes.

Coach Bissett said that Kesthely is a nice pickup for the Warriors, who have finished in the top five at the USCAA national championships the past three years.

“I am very excited for Shane to be a part of our program. He comes from an excellent junior college program that has had tons of success,” said Bissett. “Shane was one of the best junior college golfers in the state this past year and had an excellent four days at the Junior College National Tournament where he tied for 44th in the country. He has the talent that can allow him to come in and help us immediately. I am really looking forward to working with him.”
