Troy pulls away from Oxford
TROY — Troy used a 14-8 run in the first quarter and slowly pulled away to post a for a 57-43 non-conference victory over Oxford.
An 18-11 spurt put Troy ahead 32-19 at the half.
Oxford used a 19-12 surge in the third frame to close to within 44-38 entering the fourth period. The Colts closed out with a 13-5 final quarter to the final margin to 14 points.
Sabrina Cotton led Troy with 18 points, canning 7-for-10 free throws. Karin Moss added 15 points, Katy McCuish scored nine and Gabbi Ellis six points for the Colts.
Miranda Murphy scored 14 for Oxford. Michelle Gilmour and Shelby Davis added nine points apiece for the Wildcats.
