TUESDAY’S BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Adams sweeps winless Stoney Creek; Lake Orion, Oakland Christian roll

ROCHESTER HILLS —Rochester Adams picked up the regular season sweep of crosstown rival Rochester Stoney Creek Tuesday, topping the host Cougars 54-44, in an OAA crossover boys basketball contest.

Adams led 20-15 at the half and blew the game open with a 22-7 third quarter run, good for a 42-22 lead entering the final quarter.

Akhemji Wiliams led the way with a game-high 22 points, nine steals and six assists for Adams (9-6). Zack Littleson added 13 points and Matt Sokol chipped in with six points for the Highlanders, who were a crisp 14-for-16 from the foul line.

Stephan Makowski scored eight for winless Stoney Creek (0-15).

LAKE ORION 68, BIRMINGHAM GROVES 60: Lake Orion built a 26-18 lead by the half and held even with the Falcons to claim this OAA crossover win Tuesday.

Both teams scored 42 points in the second half.

Justin Walukonis scored 20 and John McCarty added 19 points for Lake Orion. Chaz Miller chipped in with eight points and Roman Kuster scored seven for the Dragons.

Parish Thurman finished with 17 points for Groves (9-7). Grant Henderson scored 11 and both Malik Evans, Andrew Forbes and Emmanuel Thomas finished with eight points apiece for the Falcons, who trailed 13-8 after the first quarter.

AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 64, PLYMOUTH CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 38: Oakland Christian overcame an early 12-8 deficit with a 22-6 second quarter run to down the Eagles Tuesday in MIAC Blue Division play.

Charles Hayden and Josh Peterson both scored 19 for Oakland Christian. Nathan Piasecki and Drew Perrin scored eight apiece for the Lancers (12-4, 6-4), who outscored the Eagles 34-22 in the second half.

Mike Noel scored 22 for Plymouth Christian.
