BOYS BASKETBALL: Lakes sink Hamtramck; Lake Orion edges Romeo
WATERFORD — Garrett Ross continued his torrid pace this season, scoring 30 points Thursday to lead Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes to a 62-53 non-conference boys basketball victory.
Nick robak added 12 points and Zach collier chipped in with 11 points for Lakes (2-2).
Our Lady led 18-8 after the first quarter and 36-28 at the half. The lead ballooned to 46-34through three quarter of play before Hamtramck closed with a 19-16 surge.
Garrett Smith scored 15 for Hamtramck.
LAKE ORION 55, ROMEO 52: Lake Orion outscored Romeo 20-10 in the fourth quarter to move to 5-1 on the season.
Rome led 42-35 entering the fourth quarter, thanks to an 18-11 surge in the third quarter.
The two teams were tied at 24-24 at the half.
Chaz Miller scored 23 and John McCarty added 12 points for Lake Orion.
Alex Compo scored 21 and Adam Davis added 11 points for Romeo.
