OU’s Mondy and WIU’s Parks named Summit League Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Oakland’s Duke Mondy and Western Illinois’ Terell Parks were named The Summit League Players of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. Mondy, a junior from Grand Rapids, Mich., earns his first player of the week award.
Mondy led the Golden Grizzlies to a league win over Omaha, 91-79, on Thursday night. He finished with 18 points, nine assists, six steals and three rebounds. Mondy finished 7 of 9 from the floor and 3 of 4 from behind the arc. In a loss at Alabama, Mondy scored a team-best 11 points, while posting two assists and two steals. He averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.0 steals per game.
Parks led WIU to a pair of wins last week and earns his first career award. He averaged a double-double 11.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.0 blocked shots per game in the Leathernecks’ two contests. Parks posted 13 points and 12 rebounds in an overtime win over IUPUI and helped lead WIU to its best start since the 1957-58 season at 12-3 (5-0 in league).
Mondy and the Golden Grizzlies will embark on a road trip to South and North Dakota this Thursday and Saturday. OU will face South Dakota State on Thursday night at 8 p.m. and North Dakota State on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.
