MACS GIRLS BASKETBALL: Eagles soar in tourney opener

ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester Hills Christian never trailed Monday and opened up Michigan Association of Christian Schools Division I tournament play with a resounding 44-21 win over Clinton Township Faith Christian.

The Eagles (13-5) are the defending state runner-up and advance to Friday’s second round play where they will play second-seeded Carson City Fellowship Baptist in a rematch of last year’s state title game.

Junior Kindra Armitage had 14 points and four steals to lead the Eagles. Sophomore Ashley Parker recorded another double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, and sophomore Jenna Porter had five points and eight rebounds in the win for RHC.

Susie Hinsenkamp scored 10 points in the loss for the Patriots.
