MONDAY’S GIRLS SOCCER: Brandon edges Carman-Ainsworth; Lutheran Northwest blanks Parkway
FLINT — Freshman Hannah Lapanowski scored the game winning goal with under eight minutes to play Monday to lift Ortonville Brandon to a 2-1 non-league girls soccer victory Monday over host Flint Carman-Ainsworth.
Alora McCoy also scored for Brandon and assisted on the winning goal, while Sara Nutter had had three saves in goal for the Blackhawks.
Brandon (2-1-0) outshot the Cavaliers, 15-4.

WATERFORD OUR LADY OF THE LAKES-CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE UNIFIED 2, STERLING HEIGHTS LIFE SUMMIT HOME SCHOOL 1: Anna Robb and Lindsay Straw each scored in the first half goal for WOLL-CEC. (2-0-0). Megan Luttinen recorded four saves in net for the Lakers (2-0-0) while Ava Doetsch and Lindsay Straw drew assists for the winners.
Sarah Smith scored for Life Summit (1-1-0).
ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 3, STERLING HEIGHTS STEVENSON 0: Sydney Incho scored the first goal. And Madison Toth netted a pair of second-half tallies to lead unbeaten Stoney Creek to the non-league road win Monday.
Halee Michel made two saves in goal for the shutout, while Maria Zandi, Courtney Follek and Hanna Darin notched assists for the Cougars (5-0-0).
Stevenson slipped to 0-2-1 with the loss.
AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 1, BLOOMFIELD HILLS ANDOVER 0: Host Avondale moved to 3-1-0 on the season with this OAA White Division win over the Barons.
Jessica Creech scored the game’s only goal for Avondale, while Abbey Oliver recorded seven saves in her first shutout.
