SOFTBALL: Adams takes twinbill from Rochester
ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester Adams proved to be superior on the softball diamond Thursday against rival Rochester, posting an OAA White Division softball sweep by outscoring the 4-1 in the opener an d 6-5 in the nightcap.
Bre Polcyn finished 3-for-3 with two RBI and Kristen Noack was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Adams (7-2) in Game 1. Kelly McCasland fanned six over seven innings of work, and gave up six hits and a walk to gain the win from the circle.
Adams amassed 14 hits in Game 2, and used a four-run sixth inning to rally past the Falcons.
Meghan Eggleton was 4-for-4 and scored twice for Adams. Maddy Phelps finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and Noack added two hits for the Highlanders.
Emily Smith had four hits for Rochester (3-5).
