PREP BASEBALL: Lancers upend Baptist Park to maintain league lead
AUBURN HILLS — For the first time in nearly two decades, Auburn Hills Oakland Christian is in a position to win a conference championship in baseball.
Behind a five-hitter from Colin O’Connor, the Lancers outlasted Taylor Baptist Park 8-5 to maintain its lead in the Michigan Independent Athletic Conference Red Division and come from within one win of the league championship.
The Lancers play at Ypsilanti Calvary Christian Saturday with the league title on the line.
Rafael Eigenmann had a double, walk, and two RBI for Oakland Christian. Cliff Baxter provided the go-ahead RBI on a suicide squeeze.
