BOYS BASKETBALL: Adams remains unbeaten with rout of Utica
ROCHESTER HILLS — New year, still perfect.
Rochester Adams ushered in 2013 with its fifth victory of the campaign, toasting Utica 68-47 in a non-conference boys basketball contest.
Jack Twitty scored a game-high 17 points to lead Adams (5-0). Akhemji Williams added 15 points and nine assists, Zach Littleson chipped in 14 points, Ben Limb scored 10 points and C.J. Borglin hauled in 10 rebounds for the Highlanders.
Mike Russell and Blake Vallie both scored 12 points for Utica (1-4).
Adams raced out to a 25-9 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. By halftime, the Highlanders held a 34-23 advantage.
Adams outscored the chieftains 34-24 in the second half.
