MONDAY’S BOYS BASKETBALL: Lapeer Faith hands Rochester Hills Christian first loss; Lake Orion Baptist rolls by Springfield Christian

ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester Hills Christian suffered the first loss of the boys basketball season Monday, falling to Lapeer Faith Home School, 70-41 in a non-league contest.

Luke Gabriel had 22 points and Matt Delong chipped in 13 for the win at home for Faith, which is the top-ranked team in the West Michigan Home School Athletic Association.

Marquez Hatcher had 23 points and Josh Steiner added eight points in the loss for the Eagles, who dropped to 17-1 and had the longest win streak in school history snapped.

LAKE ORION BAPTIST 52, CLARKSTON SPRINGFIELD CHRISTAIN 40: Lake Orion Baptist blew open a tight game by outscoring the Eagles 16-8 in the second quarter and posted this FBAC Blue Division win.

The Lions (5-4) led 27-17 at the half and 40-23 through three quarters of play.

Lake Orion Baptist was led by Mark Dewar and Jason Noruk, each whom finished with a double-double.  Dewar had 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Noruk had 12 points, 11 rebounds, nine steals and three assists.

Springfield Christian was led by Andrew Alonzi with 17 points and Nico Alonzi with 12 points.
