SOFTBALL: Clarkston splits with Swartz Creek
CLARKSTON — Clarkston won the opener and Swartz Creek gained some revenge in the nightcap, as the Wolves and Dragons split a non-league double-header Thursday.
Clarkston won the opener, 9-3, while Swartz Creek took the nightcap, 6-3.
The Wolves blew the first game open with a seven-run fourth.
Sydney Hasselbach finished 3-for-3, including an RBI double, and Rachel Vieira drove in two runs and hit 3-for-4 for Clarkston in Game 1.
Madeline Maday struck out nine and gave up one hit from the circle for the Wolves (8-5).
Swartz Creek scored two in the first, one in the fourth and three in the fifth to pull away from Clarkston in the nichtcap.
Candace Kitchen finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and Abby Skvarce 1-for-3 for Clarkston.
