BOYS SOCCER: Clarkston blanks Berkley; Oakland Christian rallies past Southfield Christian; NDP shuts out St. Mary’s
CLARKSTON — Behind a goal in each half, Clarkston kept pace in the OAA Red Division Tuesday with a 2-0 shutout of Berkley.
Brandon Ryenolds scored on an assist by Brad Schultz in the first half, while Schultz set up Jared D’Autremont with a goal in the second half for Clarkston (6-3-2, 2-0-1).
Grant Gotaas notched his fourth shutout of the season on five saves. The Wolves outshot Berkley 7-5 with shots on frame.
AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 2, SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN 1: Kevin Nimmo scored a goal for Southfield Christian, only to see visiting Oakland Christian score twice down the stretch to steal the MIAC Blue Division win.
Oakland Christian scored both goals in the final 13 minutes of play, coming off the feet of Phil Benedict and Daniel Smith. The Lancers were playing a man down due to a red card.
Donald Keating made nine saves in the loss for Southfield Christian.
PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP 1, ORCHARD LAKE ST. MARY’S 0: Peter Miklas scored the games’ only goal and Nick Peterson made it stand as the Fighting Irish gained the CHSL-AA Division win.
David Klei drew the assist and Peterson recorded 11 saves in the shutout for NDP (4-1-2, 1-0-0).
WEST BLOOMFIELD 3, LAKE ORION 2: West Bloomfield scored all three of its goals in the final 25 minutes to rally for the OAA White Division win.
Roberto Escalante had two goals and David Hots scored the other for the Lakers (3-3-2).
Tim Thompson had both goals for Lake Orion, both coming early in the second half for the Dragons (4-2-2).
Mitchel Hotz had nine saves for West Bloomfield, while Skylar Jeppesen; Dylan Myers; and Jame Beaumont shared time in goal for Lake Orion.
