BOYS SOCCER: Stoney Creek edges Lake Orion; Athens blanks West Bloomfield
LAKE ORION — Rochester Stoney Creek rallied back from a 1-0 halftime deficit Saturday night to post a 2-1 non-league boys soccer triumph over host Lake Orion in OAA crossover play.
Griffin Dean scored on a penalty kick, while Alec Tayloe scored the game winner for the Cougars. Jacob Cowery made seven saves in the win for the Cougars (10-4-4).
Richard Doll scored for Lake Orion, while Dylan Myers made six saves for the Dragons.
TROY ATHENS 4, WEST BLOOMFIELD 0: Troy Athens upped its record to 15-0-0 with this shutout Saturday of host West Bloomfield in OAA Crossover play.
All four goals came in the second half for the Red Hawks.
Tyler Gasko and Bryan Lawson each had a goal and an assist for Athens. Chris Serwatka and Aaron Gebauer also scored, while Aaron Nufer notched the shout out on three saves for the Red Hawks.
West Bloomfield slipped to 5-5-2 with the loss.
