SATURDAY’S VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Notre Dame Prep reaches semifinals of Oxford tourney;Lakes third at Andover
Pontiac Notre Dame Prep reached the semifinals at Saturday’s Oxford Invitational, defeating Capac, Warren Regina, Lapeer East and Marlette in round robin play before falling in the semifinals to Oxford (22-25, 25-23 and 16-14).
Dani McCormick had 37 kills to pace NPD. Hannah Start scooped up 68 digs, Tia Jurkiw added 29 service points with four aces for Notre Dame Prep (24-16-4).
LAKES THIRD AT ANDOVER
Waterford our Lady of the Lakes finished in third place at Saturday’s Bloomfield Hills Andover Tournament.
The Lakers posted an 8-3-0 record on the day before falling to eventual champion Auburn Hills Oakland Christian in the semifinals (15-16, 25-27, 15-10).
The Lakers (40-26) were paced by Haley Howell, who slammed 20 kills with 53 assists on the day. Marina Anderson added 16 kills and Devon Valant chipped in with 11 blocks and nine kills for WOLL.
