SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Adams posts sweep of Holly

HOLLY— Rochester Adams finally returned to the softball diamond Tuesday and came away with a double-header sweep of host Holly in a non-league twinbill.

Adams won the opener 4-3, then came back to roll in the six-inning nightcap, 12-2.

Adams led 4-0 through 4.5 innings, only to see the Bronchos plate one run in the first and two more in the seventh to make Game 1 close. Emily Bryce was 4-for-4 with and RBI, while Maddie Phelps was 2pfor-4 with an RBI for Adams.

Melanie Kipke scattered 10 hits, striking out five and allowing only two earned runs for the pitching win in the opener.

Katie Ordiway was 3-for-3 and scored twice Jesse Lomax was 2-for-3 for Holly (0-6).

In Game 2, Adams built a 3-2 lead after three innings, then blew the door open by scoring eight runs in the fourth as part of the Highlanders’ 17-hit attack.

Claire Scislowicz was 3-for-4 and Alex Bahner was 3-for-4 with two RBI for Adams (2-3). Kristen Koltvedt struck out four and gave up four hits for the win from the circle.
