SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Hoeksema fires no-hitter in Clarkston’s 12-0 win over Avondale
CLARKSTON — Coming off its first loss of the season Sunday in the bracket play of the Michigan Stars Tournament, Clarkston returned to its winning ways on the softball diamond Monday.
Sam Hoeksema threw a no-hitter in leading Clarkston past Auburn Hills Avondale 12-0 in OAA crossover play.
Hoeksema struck out nine and walked none in the lopsided victory.
At the plate, Sydney Hasselbach was 3-for-3, including a triple, scored twice and had two RBI to pace the Wolves.
Allie Reeves was 3-for-4, drove in one run and scored once, Sarah Altene was 2-for-3, drove in two runs and scored twice and both Shauna Siwicki and Megan Hastings had two hits and scored two runs apiece for Clarkston.
MICHIGAN STARS TOURNAMENT
CLARKSTON 12, ROSEVILLE 0: Clarkston put together a 15-hiot attack in downing Roseville in the Stars Tournament in Grand Blanc Sunday.
Shauna Siwicki was 3-for-3, scored twice and had an RBI to lead a balanced attack. Elizabeth Zezula was 3-for-4 and drove in three runs, Rachel Pytel was 2-for-2, scored twice and drove in two runs, Allie Reeves plated twice and had two RBI, and Megan Hastings added two hits and scored a run for the Wolves.
Hastings pitched the first four innings, giving up two hits while striking out three for the win from the circle.
CLARKSTON 11, LINCOLN PARK 1: This mercy shortened game last six innings, as Clarkston picked up the win in pool play at the Michigan Stars Tournament.
Sarah Altene pitched four innings, scattering three hits while striking out two the only run Clarkston allowed was unearned.
Shauna Siwicki was 3-for-3, including tow doubles, scored once and finished with three RBI for Clarkston. Megan Hastings was 3-for-4 and plated four runs and scoring once, Elizabeth Zezula finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored twice and Allie Reeves added two hits and scored one run for the Wolves.
