Oxford ninth, Notre Dame Prep 10th at Lapeer Tune-Up
LAPEER — Utica backed up its state ranking, winning the Lapeer Open with a play-five, count-four team score of 339.
Swartz Creek, another state-ranked program was second (354), followed by Fenton (369), Farmington Hills Mercy (370) and Lapeer West (372) rounded out the top five in the 24-school standings.
Utica’s Taylor Clark was medalists with a 73, while Killian Casson (79), Julia Montgomery (82) and Angela Hagen (105) wrapped up the Chiefs’ score.
Oxford claimed ninth overall at 399 to lead area teams. Pontiac Notre Dame Prep was 10th (400), Holly 13th (419) and Ortonville Brandon 23rd (no team score).
Kayla Kurczewski finished 21st with a 91 to pace Oxford. Claire Wolanin (100), Emily Cle land (100), Hannah Beebe (108) and Riley Hayes (112) followed for the Wildcats.
Lexie Cipa tied for ninth with an 87 for Notre Dame Prep. Kelly McElreath (102), Madie Fioroni (104), Natalie Stroster 107) and Kailee Pawlich (125) were the other competitors for the Fighting Irish.
Alexandra Johnson tied for ninth with an 87 for Holly. Emma Alexander (103), Taylor turner (106), Jacquline Miles (123) and Stephanie Beaurega (138) also competed for the Bronchos.
Brandon only had three golfers at the tournament, as Megan Pfarrer (101), Kelsey Edwards (102), Amanda Greco (106) all finished in the top half.
