WEDENSDAY’S BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Troy Athens slams Utica; Clarkston downs Utica
TROY — Troy Athens had little resistance for Utica Wednesday, as the Red Hawks posted a 10-2 none-conference baseball win over the Chieftains.
Athens broke open a 2-2 tie through four innings with four runs in the fifth. The Red Hawks collected 10 hits on the day.
Tommy Eng finished 4-for-5 with four RBI, a triple and scored twice for Athens. Ryan Noorman was 1-for-2 and scored three runs.
Jalen Wize got the win on the mound, pitching three inning of scoreless, hitless innings of relief. Ethan Badertcher gave up four hits in the first three frames for Athens (2-3).
Utica is 3-3. 
CLARKSTON 9, ROCHESTER ADAMS 7: Clarkston scored four runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead and post this OAA Red Division win over the host Highlanders.
Dylan Peck led Clarkston by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Mike Zezula was 2-for-3 with a double and scored twice for the Wolves. (1-0, 1-0). Jeff Forsten got the win in relief for Clarkston.
Adams, which led 7-5 entering the seventh, picked up three runs, and two RBI from Alex Borglin. Jack Twitty was 3-for-4 for the Highlanders (4-2, 0-1).
