BOYS LACROSSE: Troy throttles Plymouth Canton
TROY — Behind a six-goal explosion in the first period, Troy dismantled Plymouth Canton 18-2 Saturday night in a non-league boys lacrosse match.
The Colts also scored five time in the second period for a 11-1 halftime lead, then tacked on two more tallies in the third frame and five more in the fourth quarter.
Senior attack Nick Kondoleon scored seven times in the rout to pact Troy’s lethal injection. Collin McLean added four goals and Jay Darish contributed three goals for the Colts.
Robert Kraft, Justice Bigelow, Oliver Jiang and Miles Mcdonald also scored single goals for Troy (6-2-0).
On the defensive end, senior goalie Bryan Berquist, with support from junior goalie Dan Birkett, have held opponents to only four goals in the last three games. The Troy goal advantage is 54-4 in that span, which includes wins over Oxford, Auburn Hills Avondale and Plymouth Canton.
One of the Canton goals came on a two-man Canton player advantage in the second quarter.
