GIRLS SOCCER: Unbeaten Rochester trips up Athens; WOLL-EC remains perfect
TROY — Rochester remained atop the OAA Red Division girls soccer standings Thursday, posting a 2-0 shutout of Troy Athens.
Maria Broecker scored unassisted in the first half and Zo Shultz added a second-half insurance tally for Rochester (7-0-01, 4-0-1).
Stephanie Heber made four saves for Rochester to gain the shutout in net.
Athens fell to 5-2-1 overall and suffered its first league loss (2-1-1).
WATERFORD OUR LADY OF THE LAKES-CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE UNIFIED: 8, MACOMB LUTHERAN NORTH 1: Anna Robb scored two goals with two assists and the Lakers scored early and often in this CHSL rout of the Mustangs.
Jessica Parry netted a hat trick for WOLL-EC, while Emma Cross, Brianna Popolewski and Alex Troy also scored for the Lakers (6-0-0). Megan Luttinen and Lucia Westrick combined for seven saves in the win.
