OXFORD — Oxford scored early and often in a mercy-shortened, 8-0, OAA Blue Division boys soccer opener Wednesday.
Chase Garavaglia opened the floodgates in the fifth minute and the Wildcats (3-0-0, 1-0-0).
Junior Francisco Rivera- Reyes upped the lead to 2-0 in the 10th minute, while Justin Westphal, Garavagli, Tommy Downs, Devan DeJong, Jake Champion and Simat all scoring in succession to finish off Ferndale (0-3-0, 0-1-0).
Michael Dobies recorded the shutout for Oxford.
SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN 2, ROCHESTER HILLS LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 1: Sophomore Parker Brose scored with 10 minutes waiting Wednesday, as the host Eagles posted this MIAC Blue Division win. Aaron Harting assisted on the game winner.
Kevin Nimmo staked Southfield Christian (2-1-0, 2-0-0) to an early 1-0 lead, only to see Northwest tied the game on a goal from Orlando McDonald.
